Who needs a city bike in the winter when you can ski – the Finnish city of Lahti rolled out the world’s first urban ski-sharing program
Finns are no strangers to snow, but when the roads get icy and the snow is knee-deep, skiing might just be the fastest way to get around. That’s why the city of Lahti decided to roll-out a public ski-sharing scheme – as the first city in the world. Lahti, the European Green Capital of 2021 and the unofficial skiing capital of Finland, wanted to motivate people to make climate-friendly choices and save the famously snowy Northern winters.
